Welcome to I.M. Vermont

We are the residents of a small academic internal medicine residency located in Burlington, Vermont. Our training hospital, Flecther Allen, serves as both a community hospital and a tertiary care center, and the residency is closely integrated with the Unversity of Vermont and its medical school. We believe we receive excellent medical training, have opportunities to do cutting edge research, and are able to maintain lives outside of the hospital.

Enjoy the glimpse into our lives. If you are planning on entering the Residency Match, we invite you to visit.

The final intern leaves the building - Hooray Curt!

Curt "the hitman" Weaver (because he is silent but deadly when it comes to battling disease) emerged from the depths of overnight call and claimed the title of "last intern out". He signed out to the new interns with the authority and malaise of an upper level resident.

Nurses and secretaries howled in agony as they heard Curt step out into the linoleum and proclaim his departure because they could deny no further the futility and sorrow they will have in correcting the new interns badly written orders. Curt walked out with a sausage egg McClure in one hand while the other hand was used as a fake hand pistol. Curt made shooting noises as he pointed his finger fashioned pistol at everyone he passed till he exited into the sunrise (a little girl cried asking for her mommy as Curt fake shot her)

Congrats to the old R1s transitioning to the R2 year. Good bye to the Prelims - we'll miss you. Stay tuned when Curt experiences his first 161 rage...It will be amazing.
