Welcome to I.M. Vermont

We are the residents of a small academic internal medicine residency located in Burlington, Vermont. Our training hospital, Flecther Allen, serves as both a community hospital and a tertiary care center, and the residency is closely integrated with the Unversity of Vermont and its medical school. We believe we receive excellent medical training, have opportunities to do cutting edge research, and are able to maintain lives outside of the hospital.

Enjoy the glimpse into our lives. If you are planning on entering the Residency Match, we invite you to visit.

Hops are the spice of....

This past weekend, many enjoyed Burlington's Brewfest. This was an opportunity to experience fun in the sun by the lake while learning about many of the local micro brewers in the regional area. Pictured above include some but certainly not all of the residents from UVM that went to it. Note that residencies do mix as I.M., Radiology, Family Practice and Anesthesiology are represented. Special shout out to Katherine Tzou (ex I.M. Prelim, now RadOnc resident) who traveled back for the "brew-ha-ha". After several educational experiences on the diversity of brewfest, including Peak organic's espresso porter, she was eager to start a brewfest discourse on how to solve the world energy problem and the cost-benefit analysis of the Kyoto Protocol. Towards the end, the I.M. Residents just had more questions and needed to find out more. Radiology residents acknowledged that there was a problem but could not rule out other causes of energy, Kyoto or protocols....while Anesthesia pounded their beer and left the scene to pound again. In the end, brewfest ended in a series of "I love you mans" -- How fitting.
